Self-Regulation for Balance and Quality of Life
To maintain stability, clarity, and a sense of calm, I rely on structured self-care strategies. Living with PTSD means that clear routines and healthy habits are essential — both for my own well-being and for being the present, supportive parent I strive to be. My Garmin Fenix watch helps me stay on track by ensuring I reach at least 150 minutes of focused physical activity each week. This includes two strength-training sessions, interval walking (such as 3x3 intervals), cycling, and other forms of exercise that support both physical and mental health. When I experience intrusive thoughts or emotional overload, I use BLS (Body Laser System) — a laser-based acupuncture method that helps me quickly regain calm and balance. This gives me the energy and focus to maintain my routines and the structure that is so important in my daily life.
